What is Revolution for Cats and Dogs?
Revolution is a trusted broad-spectrum parasite treatment for dogs and cats. When used monthly, Revolution prevents the development of heartworm disease, controls flea infestations and treats and controls ear mites. It also treats tick infestations and sarcoptic mange in dogs and is used to control roundworms and hookworms in cats.
Preventing heartworm should be an important part of any pet’s health plan, as once developed it can be difficult and expensive to treat, and leaving it unchecked will put your pet in danger.

Is Revolution right for my pet?
Revolution spot-on treatment is suitable for dogs and puppies over 6 weeks of age, and for cats and kittens over 8 weeks of age. Revolution has been evaluated as safe for use on breeding, pregnant or nursing dogs and cats.

What are the side effects of Revolution?
Dogs and cats treated with the same dosage of Revolution may experience different side effects.
Some temporary hair loss or inflammation may occur at the site of application after treatment with Revolution. Other less common side effects include decreased appetite, diarrhea, drooling and muscle tremors.
What precautions must be taken?
- For topical application only, do not allow the pet to ingest.
- Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after application.
- Do not apply to wet fur.
- Keep out of reach children and animals.
- Not for human use.
- Not for use on dogs under 6 weeks of age.
- Not for use on cats under 8 weeks of age.
How effective is Revolution (Selamectin)?
In controlled laboratory studies, >98% of fleas were killed within 36 hours. Results of clinical field studies using Revolution monthly demonstrated >90% control of flea infestations within 30 days of the first dose. Dogs and cats treated with Revolution, including those with pre-existing flea allergy dermatitis, showed improvement in clinical signs associated with fleas as a direct result of eliminating the fleas from the animals and their environment.
For the prevention of heartworm disease, Revolution must be administered on a monthly basis. Revolution may be administered year-round or at least within one month after the animal’s first exposure to mosquitoes and monthly thereafter until the end of the mosquito season. The final dose must be given within one month after the last exposure to mosquitoes.
